Located at 2571 Robie Street in Halifax, it's a bright, fun little space - complete with classroom/studio area at the back.
This lovely little vignette greets you as you walk in the door!
There are a lot of mod sewing and quilt books on the shelves, as well as patterns from Oliver & S. And then there's the wall of fabric goodness - treats from Liberty, Charley Harper from Birch Fabrics, and there's more coming! It's so fun to see (and touch!) fabric lines that I've only seen on my computer screen.
This shelf drew me in...Joel Dewberry's newest line, Birch Farm. Their website will be up and running soon, soon, soon and you'll be able to see more pics of the shop and the fun stuff they've got on offer! I can hardly wait for classes to begin in September... it's been a while since there was something different on offer around these parts. In the mean time, I'll be making myself a little something with the treat I picked up today!
I told you that shelf of Birch Farm grabbed me!

That looks like a lovely space! I hope that they are successful and it is a fun space for you to find inspiration and have classes!
ReplyDeleteHow exciting for you and your neighborhood. I think it's nice to hold the fabrics before you buy them. Colours aren't always true on the computer screen so there are many advantages of having a local quilt shop. Men might see it as a disadvantage, but to women it's all positive. Have fun.
ReplyDeleteThanks for showing all the pictures. For the moment, it allows me to see it all through you. Looks like a gorgeous spot. The fabrics are beautiful :)
ReplyDeletegreat. I've been thinking about the Joel Dewberry fabric!
ReplyDeleteAh, Jenn, I may have beat you to the store, but at least you remembered to take your camera! I think I have to go back for some Denyse Schmidt fabric now...
ReplyDeleteYay for Patch Halifax! I stopped in yesterday too. So looking forward to having a local spot to buy and take some classes. Enjoy your new purchases!
ReplyDeleteGlad you made it over. Love the owls.
ReplyDeleteOwls!!!! love those buggers. Can't wait to get in
ReplyDeleteI thought about you yesterday and wondered if you made it over. I might be late (baaaa haaa haaa) for the next Q-Squared day, cause I might have to stop here. ;-)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the photos. I can't wait to see the new store, in person.
