It's Charm Pack Cherry Sans Cherries... since there are no actual cherries in these prints! It's a free pattern from Fat Quarter Shop. It's easy, even if you have to make adaptations as I did (I only had one charm pack and it calls for two!)
This quilt is also my January goal for A Lovely Year of Finishes hosted by Fibre of All Sorts and Sew Bittersweet Designs. One down, eleven to go!
For the backing, I gathered up three chunks of Kona and pieced them together - Chartreuse, Snow, & Robin Egg. I knew I wouldn't be able to find any of the prints at my LQS, so Konas seemed like my best bet. It's quilted using a scallop stitch (#130) on my Pfaff Quilt Expression 4.0.

I'm linking up with Finish Up Friday @ Crazy Mom Quilts, as well as with the January link-up for a Lovely Year of Finishes @ Fibre of All Sorts. My post was #129 on the Goal Setting post.
As long as I'm at it, I'm linking up with...
Tomorrow I'm off to the first MMQG Sew In of 2015! Here's hoping that the freezing rain forecasted for tomorrow doesn't throw a wrench in my plans. I'm looking forward to seeing my quilty pals and having an entire day of sewing! Woo hoo! And, on Sunday, I might even have a surprise for you Kona lovers out there! Stay tuned!

Ohhh! love the quilting on that one, and great choice of binding ;) Don't you just love taking pictures of quilts on that snow? A definite benefit of winter!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. Those colours really pop against the snow, especially with the lovely blue binding.
ReplyDeleteThe blue really was the right choice for binding. Looks perfect! Seems like you've got a challenge with finding a project for the Salmon ;)
ReplyDeleteI haven't made this pattern yet, but I do want to. What did you change to use one charm pack (or did I miss that in a previous post?).
It turned out fabulous!
ReplyDeleteGreat finish. Nightfall was the right choice. Hoping we can make it out for tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteThe nightfall binding really sets is off wonderfully.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the finish and checking off another goal! The binding is great... Time to use the salmon as the inspiration pull for a new quilt!!
ReplyDeleteI agree, that binding pulls it all together, and love love the quilting!
ReplyDeleteHi! This is cute and beautiful quilt and I love your photos! x Teje
ReplyDeleteSo many beautiful fabrics in that charm pack! The quilt is lovely, and that scallop stitch is a nice touch. Thanks for linking to TGIFF!
ReplyDeletewould that Makower toadstool print you just got work as a jumping-off point for using the salmon? Navy and grey balance it well. Or a whole mess of pink-to-orange on a crisp white background?
ReplyDeleteThese are great color scheme plans! Now you've got me dreaming in salmon, navy, and grey!! LOL
Deleteyou know what else goes with salmon? Asparagus and Hollandaise. Or boiled egg slices and dill. They look so fresh in the Ikea cafeteria, maybe it'd translate.
DeleteI'll look into the no-reply thing; I didn't know! Thanks!
Any chance of a follow-by-email option? I find that I never check the blog reader list, but Gmail gets my attention every time :)
Sure thing! There's a follow by email button on the sidebar just under the I heart Kona button! :)
DeleteI'll check that out - man alive, you've been posting a lot lately! took me a while to get back here. But look what you've gotten done! When I'm in production mode, I never get around to writing. I've set myself a goal of a mug rug per teacher for Valentine's Day, and the kindergarten has 8 full-time staff, so I've been falling asleep over hand binding every night for a week. Anyhow, I checked out the no-reply thing and the settings *look* fine. I know you're right, but I can't figure out how to fix it. Still on the radar, though. BTW, I've been seeing combinations with coral all over the place now :)
DeleteThese instructions on resetting the no-reply thing worked for me, so I thought I'd share: http://www.bluemountaindaisy.blogspot.de/p/are-you-no-reply-blogger_3.html
DeleteThe blue binding is perfect! Gotta love using up old charm packs! Those Kona colors are awesome, too. I have a feeling I'm going to be playing with solids a lot more this year!
ReplyDeletevery nice. Love the binding choice and that scalloped stitch.
ReplyDeleteYou keep on tempting me with this quilt. I have already downloaded the pattern but am still deciding what fabric to use! Love your binding, it's perfect.
ReplyDeleteThe salmon is still a lovely colour. It will find a home!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty! I may have to make that pattern someday :) Great finish!
ReplyDeleteI love your stitches and the quilt. Just got a Pfaff and didn't know it did that! Great finish :)
ReplyDeleteYay you!!! Good job on the finish! I like the play of light!
ReplyDeleteLove the backing color trio and the binding with this. And don't you wish we could order up perfect snow blanketing for photo-opping every finish? :D
