With the demise of A Lovely Year of Finishes (insert sad face here), I started poking around the blogosphere for a link-up to replace it. It was so motivating! I checked in at Quilt Along.net, but alas, there doesn't seem to be much on there for 2016. But then I stumbled onto One Monthly Goal @ Red Letter Quilts. The premise is the same as ALYOF. Write a post stating a your monthly goal and link it up in the first seven days of the month. During the last seven days of the month, write another post about your (hopefully) achieved goal. And perhaps win a giveaway! I AM IN.
So what's my goal for January? In keeping with The Year of The Stash, I'm going to make something from what I have on hand! Like these unicorns. I've been dying to get at the selvage on this one!
Or some ViewFinders. Love me some Cotton + Steel!
Ou peut-ĂȘtre un petit quelque chose français?
But what am I going to make, you say? Well, if you've got as many drawstring bag tutorials pinned on Pinterest as I do, it might be a sign that you need to make one! I'm going with Jenni Baker of In Color Order's tutorial.
And, of course, I'm linking up with the inaugural link-up for OMG. Pop on over!
Fingers crossed.

Jennifer I have to admit this idea scares me a little - This is why I haven't joined any bees or anything - it seems like such a commitment. I wonder if it would keep me honest, though. It doesn't have to be a big goal, does it? I'll check it out.
ReplyDeleteDarn cute unicorns! The drawstring bag looks great. Might be a way to use up some of my stash and a good project for Sew Day. Good luck.
ReplyDeleteI love Jeni's drawstring bag! So cute and practical!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see the unicorn selvage! :)
ReplyDeleteCute fabrics! Do I spy French seals or is that a strange photography angle (and my need for my other glasses)?
ReplyDeleteMais oui! Ce sont des phoques. And yes, it's pronounced just as you think it might be :)
DeleteGlad you found your perfect link-up. Such cute fabrics for your project. I must pin that tutorial. I will probably need a drawstring bag in the future.
ReplyDeleteLovin the Easter bunnies! You have me thinking about finishing selvedges to be used as drawstrings. Hmm...
ReplyDeleteHappy that you found a finish a long. Love the fabrics.
ReplyDeleteThese fabrics will make such lovely little bags! I'm saving that tutorial, I can see these being cute little goody bags for kiddos later on. :) And I'll be onboard with that linkup next month, I missed the 7 day link in period this month. Thanks for sharing about it!
ReplyDeleteThese are going to be neat and fun! Good luck with your goal!
ReplyDeleteIf your stash is full if fabrics like this the Stashpocalypse is going to be easier to survive in your neck of the woods. Can I stay with you for a month or 12? I can cook and entertain babies too...well, at least BT anyway. My mothering experience is limited to boys....my stash is limited to boring things and with the odd skully bit here and there.
ReplyDeleteI second what Miss Val has said. Your stash is so full of treasures, you should have no problem managing ;) Vive la France!
ReplyDeletei recently used Jeni's drawstring bag tutorial for a Christmas gift and loved it! It went together fast and easy and it makes you want to make more. I used ribbon for the actual drawstring which I find to be easier than making my own from fabric.
ReplyDeleteI feel l Ike you and I have all the same tutorials bookmarked! Can't wait to see how they turn out. Those unicorns- OMG.
