With the demise of A Lovely Year of Finishes (insert sad face here), I started poking around the blogosphere for a link-up to replace it. It was so motivating! I checked in at
Quilt Along.net, but alas, there doesn't seem to be much on there for 2016. But then I stumbled onto One Monthly Goal @
Red Letter Quilts. The premise is the same as ALYOF. Write a post stating a your monthly goal and link it up in the first seven days of the month. During the last seven days of the month, write another post about your (hopefully) achieved goal. And perhaps win a giveaway! I AM IN.
So what's my goal for January? In keeping with
The Year of The Stash, I'm going to make something from what I have on hand! Like these unicorns. I've been dying to get at the selvage on this one!
Or some ViewFinders. Love me some Cotton + Steel!

But what am I going to make, you say? Well, if you've got as many drawstring bag tutorials pinned on Pinterest as I do, it might be a sign that you need to make one! I'm going with Jenni Baker of In Color Order's
tutorial.

Jennifer I have to admit this idea scares me a little - This is why I haven't joined any bees or anything - it seems like such a commitment. I wonder if it would keep me honest, though. It doesn't have to be a big goal, does it? I'll check it out.

ReplyDeleteIf your stash is full if fabrics like this the Stashpocalypse is going to be easier to survive in your neck of the woods. Can I stay with you for a month or 12? I can cook and entertain babies too...well, at least BT anyway. My mothering experience is limited to boys....my stash is limited to boring things and with the odd skully bit here and there.

ReplyDeletei recently used Jeni's drawstring bag tutorial for a Christmas gift and loved it! It went together fast and easy and it makes you want to make more. I used ribbon for the actual drawstring which I find to be easier than making my own from fabric.
