2016 Finish-A-Long - Q3 Goals!

It's that time again... goal setting! After jumping on the 2016  Finish-A-Long just in time for Quarter 2, I found it very motivating. Here's hoping Quarter 3 is no different!

Goal 1 - Technicolor Galaxy
Last quarter, my goal was to get up to date on my Skill Builder BOM Technicolor Galaxy. Check! This time, I want/need to get this puppy assembled and bound. For reals. It's been long enough and I want my design wall back!

Goal 2 - Cotton + Steel Christmas Quilt

This one might seem a little familiar.  Yup, it was a goal last quarter too. But this time I'm really going to get it done. Part of my hang-up is how to quilt it. Suggestions are more than welcome!

Goal 3 - Selvage Challenge
I'm going to turn my pile of rainbow selvage blocks into something fabulous for Stash Builder Box's Selvage Challenge. The challenge runs from July 5th to September 25th (perfect for Q3) and all you have to do to enter is post your project on Instagram (yup... I've succumbed to the temptation) using #selvagechallenge.

Goal 4 - Paper pieced hexies
I made one of these awesome wee hexies during my May is for Makers mania. Must. Make. More. And turn them into something! I should set a goal to use a few of those lovely patterns I bought!

Goal 5 - Advent Calendar
Christmas Advent Calendar Pattern - Wool Felt - Christmas Countdown - Reindeer with 24 Treasured Characters
Speaking of which! I started buying wool felt for this mega project just last week. Can I get it done for the end of September? It's a big goal, but I'm gonna give it a try!

I'm linking up with the goal setting post for Quarter 3 of the 2016 Finish-A-Long.

2016 Finish Along - Quarter 2!

It seems like such a long time ago that I set my goals for Q2 in the 2016 Finish Along. I went a little crazy (for me) and went with six goals. Five out of six actually got finished. Yay me!

Goal 1 - Layer, quilt, and bind my Cotton + Steel Christmas quilt. ZILCH!!!
Alas, I have made very little progress on this project. I did manage to sew the backing together and match the seams. Not too shabby if I do say so myself! This one will be at the top of my list for Q3.

Goal 2 - Layer, quilt, and bind Tula Tigers for T. ACHIEVED!!!
You can read all about the finish here.

Goal 3 - Quilt DT's I Spy Polaroids!  ACHIEVED!!!
I love, love, love this finish! DT play with it every day. They're learning so many new words thanks to these fun little Polaroids. You can read all about the finish here.

Goal 4 - Zissertwin pillow, inspired by Daylily Daze ACHIEVED!!!
And it's been delivered to its new home. Check out this post for more info.

Goal 5 -Piece and quilt all remaining blocks for Technicolor Galaxy. ACHIEVED!!!
Pieced, quilted, trimmed, ready for assembly! I kicked ass on this goal! Check out this post for the latest on Technicolor Galaxy.

Goal 6 - Thistle ACHIEVED!!!
Not only did I finish Thistle, but I also made Wee Thistle. She accompanied me to Glamp Stitchalot and met some new friends! You can read about it all here. You may notice that Thistle is unbound. I'm still calling her finished since the goal was to make a souvenir for Glamp!

I'll be linking up all my finish posts over at She Can Quilt!

Jumping on the bandwagon - 2016 Finish Along (Q2)

I'm not one to jump onto something once it's already underway, but a few of my bloggy pals have been linking up with the 2016 Finish-A-Long (hosted by a veritable pantheon of global quilters ☺).  Though I've been linking up with OMG @ Red Letter Quilts, I just haven't been finding it as motivating as last year's A Lovely Year of Finishes 2015. I don't have the foggiest idea why. So I'm switching it up and getting in on the second quarter (Q2) of 2016.

So... what am I going to (try to) get done between now and June? I've chosen 6... that's 2 per month. Not so cray-cray, right?

Goal 1 - Layer, quilt, and bind my Cotton + Steel Christmas quilt.
It's nowhere close to Christmas. But I want this one done! I even have the backing and backing purchased. But how to quilt it?!

Goal 2 - Layer, quilt, and bind Tula Tigers for T.
I'd REALLY like to get this one finished before my cousin's birthday. Seems doable. Batting is purchased and the pieced back is mostly done!

Goal 3 - Quilt DT's I Spy Polaroids!
It's all prepped and ready to go. Even the super incredible (if I do say so myself) pieced back that's almost as awesome as the front.

Goal 4 - Zissertwin pillow, inspired by Daylily Daze
This project is not as far along as Goals 1 through 3. Okay. I'll be honest here. All I have is a stack of Kona squares and a mental plan. But it needs doing.

Goal 5 -Piece and quilt all remaining blocks for Technicolor Galaxy.
Now that Lesson 8 (Moons), Lesson 9 (Background Corners), and Lesson 10 (Background Centers) have been released there's no reason for me not to be up to date. Yeah, right. But seriously, I will be so over the freakin' moon happy to have this finished. So it's time to put the pedal down and git 'er done.

Goal 6 - Thistle
I know, I know. She might look like Hazel to you, but she's Thistle to me. She's pieced, but that's about it. And I need her done before a very special adventure that Anja @ Anja Quilts, Julia @ Jada's Quilting Adventures, and Dena @ No frickin' blog yet are undertaking the first week-end of June. More on that another day!

I better stop. Anymore would be simply foolish. Phew. I feel a little light-headed just typing out this many goals. Fingers crossed, people. Fingers crossed. Off I go to link up!
