ModQImprovB Canada - August Edition!

Ack! It's the middle of August and I haven't posted this yet!
So this month our Queen Bee, M.V, chose a five sided wonky log cabin!

The tutorial that M.V. offered was a part of the block of the month series on Craftsy (2012 edition). This was my first time using Craftsy.. The video was easy to access and the block construction well explained. I can see me using this as a resource again.  I keep coming back to the fact that there is a wealth of information out there on the internet. And it's free!

This thing is huge! M.V was looking for a 14 inch block and planned to trim them herself. I'm not sure I love this one quite as much as the others. After doing all those wonky log cabin blocks for Mr & Mrs Cousin's wedding quilt, I found the five sided version a little unsettling. But then again, that's the point of this whole experience. Making stuff we mightn't choose ourselves, pushing our comfort zones. Like my mom used to say, you don't have to like everything, but you have to give it a try!

This one was sent on it's way to Alaska back in July and has safely arrived at it's new home!
