Image of Crafted Appliqué: New Possibilities
If you haven't already read them, it's well worth the time. So many creative tools. As for the lucky winner of a copy of Lara's awesome new book (as chosen by Mr. Random Number Generator) is #17. That's Tish @ Tish's Adventures in Wonderland!

P.S. I'm still reeling a bit from my adventures at Glamp Stitchalot this past week-end. Not to worry! There will most definitely be post(s) this week all about the shenanigans! Awesome barely covers it!

P.P.S. If you were here last Thursday looking for Throwback Thursday, never fear! Knowing that I would be away, I postponed it to Thursday, June 9th. See you in a couple days!

WIP Wednesday - A Fabric Pull of Epic Proportions (And a Winner!)

It all began with this little pile of loveliness.

During our Maritime Modern Quilt Guild Retreat, I was lucky enough to win a 50$ gift certificate to Dinkydoo Modern Fabrics. Squee!!! I treated myself to the Robert Kaufman Carkai Coordinates FQ bundle. It was a wee bit more than my winnings, but I felt it important to support a guild sponsor! ☺

But what began, you ask? Well, the fabric pull for my Glamp Stitchalot project! We need 40 (no... that is not a typo) fat quarters and 8 yards of background. Yikes. I didn't want the entire quilt to be Carolyn Frieldander prints. With her as an instructor, it seemed a little too kiss ass-y.  I pulled out the, well... icky colours from the bundle and determined what the Kona coordinating colour was for the remaining prints (hence the wee bit of masking tape).
Then I went to the stash and started grabbing stuff.
And it turned into this! How to we feel about those navy prints and the blacks in the same project? Truth Tea, y'all. I asked.
It's not a typical pull for me, but I'm digging it. I plan to add the coordinating Konas - Charcoal, Ultramarine, Tangerine, Creamsicle, Blueberry, Leaf, and Flame. That will bring me up to the 40 recommended.
Feel free to point out any thing that looks amiss. And suggest a background. I'm thinking a low volume. Or perhaps Kona White. Or would Kona Silver be better. Ack.

And now for something completely different! Were you waiting with bated breath for the winner of last week's Throwback Thursday {Volume 10} giveaway? Wait no more! The winner of a custom FQ bundle from my very own stash, as chosen by Mr. Random Number Generator, is... #30 - Sarah @ 123 Quilt! The linked blogs were numbers #1 through 17 and the first comment was #18. I can hardly wait to hear her request.

Thank you to everyone who linked up and who commented. See you on Thursday, June 9th for Throwback Thursday {Volume 11}

P.S. I'm linking up with the lovely Lorna @ Sew Fresh Quilts for Let's Bee Social!

Sunday Stash - A few little treasures & A Winner!

Just when you thought all the fun and games from the Maritime Modern Quilt Guild's first retreat were over, I have my fabric acquisitions from the week-end to share. Given that one of our retreat sponsors was It's Sew Time in Elmsdale, NS, I really did have to stop and support the shop. ☺
I found these little treasures (even though the colour's a little off on this pic). From front to back, Blueberry Park Rough Patch in Limelight, Ann Kelle Ovals (I can NOT resist them!), and some Carolyn Friedlander Architextures Crosshatch in Yarrow. It was a clean sweep for Robert Kaufman!

And as if that weren't enough, when I got to retreat, Aimee @ Candy Coated Quilts was handing out her Candy Coated Collection subscriptions for April and May. Very spring-y!
Inspired by a pic of daffodils, April's bundle features Jungle, Pesto, Meringue, Lemon, and (of course) Daffodil. My selection of yellows is refreshed!

And then there's May. I love me some lilacs and this bundle's got me looking forward to the blossoms that will pop out all over my neighbourhood in June.
Mulberry, Dahlia, Lavender, Bright Periwinkle, and Hibiscus. How did Aimee know that my stock of purples was perilously low?

And because it's almost as much fun to add to someone else's stash as your own, I have a winner from last week's Tula Tigers for T Giveaway. Mr. Random Number Generator selected #22. That' happens to be Aimee @ Candy Coated Quilts! I swear it wasn't rigged! She said she'd make herself a lovely little iPad cover and I look forward to seeing it.

Thank you to Fabric Please! for sponsoring the quilt and the giveaway!

I'm linking up with Sunday Stash over at Molli Sparkles. Go on. Take a look. I know there will be some fabulous fabric eye candy!

Another Winner! Winner!

Don't you just love winning? Sometimes I wish I could give a prize to everyone who links up with Throwback Thursday or leaves a comment. I really do appreciate each and every one of you. Alas, there can be only one!

And this time, it's Dominique @ The Running Thimble. She linked up a post about a scrappy nine-patch quilt she made for her mom back in 2008. She's won a 25$ gift certificate to Dinkydoo Modern Fabrics. Even if you didn't win, you can still pop over and check out their fab selection of pre-cuts. So many lovely collections!
Mr Random Number Generator chose #3, with the linked blogs being #1 through 17 and the first comment counting as #18.

See you on April 7th for {Volume 9}!

You'll have to make your own dinner! 'Cause I was too busy swooshing down the snowy slopes to post the winner from Throwback Thursday {Volume 7}! Thank goodness Mr. Random Number Generator didn't go on vacation!

The lucky winner, who will receive a 40$ gift certificate from Fabric Please!, is #16. Linked blogs were numbered #1 through #20 and the first comment was #21.

That's Carla from Granny Maud's Girl who linked up a post about the pillow she hand-quilted!

Thank you to everyone who linked up and who commented. I hope to see you back for TBT {Volume 8} on March 3rd. I've already got oldie but goodie quilt picked out and a sweet giveaway lined up.

J

P.S. To all you Stash Comrades out there, don't forget tomorrow's link-up! It's your chance to show off the projects you've been making with your hoard carefully curated fabric collection. Or maybe you'll show off your re-organized stash. Time to show your stash love!

Winner! Winner! TBT {Volume 6}

Hey y'all! Just popping in to let you know that we have a winner from Throwback Thursday {Volume 6}.
The linked blogs were numbers #1 to 18 and the comments were #19 to 58. The winner, as chosen by the ever helpful Mr. Random Number Generator, was #38. That's Tish from Tish's Adventures in Wonderland who said that the most loved quilt in her house is "probably the one I made my daughter. She sleeps with it on her bed and takes it everywhere with her when she's staying away." That's well loved!

Tish wins a custom charm pack from my stash. I can't wait to hear from her to find out what colour pathway she's chosen. I do love a good rummage through the stash!

Thanks again to everyone who linked up and who commented. See you on February 4th for Throwback Thursday {Volume 7} and another sweet prize from Fabric Please!

Winner! Winner!

Hey y'all! Just popping in to let you know that we have a winner of last week's giveaway from Fridays Off Fabric.
Mr. Random Number Generator selected lucky #3. That's Ioleen @ Back Home Quilter who said "A couple of years ago, my son go me a gift card for my LQS because he didn't know what to buy. He said he hoped I could find fabric I didn't already have. Of course I did, lol." It was lots of fun reading about your best quilty presents. You can always direct your loved ones to the comments section if they need ideas!

#TBT {Volume 4} Winner!

Thank you again to everyone who linked up and who commented on the most recent Throwback Thursday post. This month's winner is #38 (with #1 being the first blog linked up and #19 being the first comment on my blog). And of course, it was selected by the lovely and talented, Mr. Random Number Generator. The winner is Lauren who blogs over at Leto's Passion.
Again, she wins a 40$ gift certificate to Fabric Please. Many thanks to Rita for her support of TBT! Fabric Please will be doing an encore as the sponsor next month with an even bigger prize. Yay for Canadian on-line shops!

I hope to see everyone back on December 3rd for our Christmas themed Throwback Thursday! I'm going with Christmas, but if you celebrate some other wonderful festive time... give 'er. That said, please remember that what people really seem to enjoy and comment about in this link-up is a bit of a story. You don't have to be Dickens, but a Flickr pic isn't quite what the collective is lookin' for!

#TBT Giveaway winner!

Thanks so much to everyone who linked up with the first ever Throwback Thursday @ A Quarter Inch from the Edge. It was a treat to see your quilts from way back when and read the stories behind them.

But what about the giveaway winners, you say? Well, Mr. Random Number Generator did his thing and picked #9 in the linkups. That's Julie @ Julie's Quilts & Costumes who wrote all about the first quilt she ever made in a quilting class. It's scrappy, jewel toned, and has a tonne of HSTs. Pop on over and check it out! As for the comments, Mr. RNG went for #8. That was Connie from Oregon. Congratulations to both of you!

Hope to see you back on September 3rd for Throwback Thursday {Volume 2}!
